On an Engagement and Trip

It's official, I am engaged to the most wonderful man. We got engaged exactly a month ago.
Of course, I took no time at all notifying parents and grandparents and taking part in the first session of engagement photos.


After all... Andrew is leaving in two weeks for Air Force Basic Training.

This past week, we drove all the way to Washington state and back in five days to pick up an old car. We went with his mom and dad. I'm still exhausted from 15 hours every day in the truck, but I loved seeing two new states and most of Montana that I never had before.

Our final stop was Centralia, WA, just south of Tacoma... and can I say "Please, God let Andrew be stationed here!" I loved the western area of Washington. Moss covered trees, and houses, mountains, pine trees.

On Summer

It's a balmy 6 degrees outside and I'm wishing for summer.
I'm usually the last person wishing for winter to be over. I'm all about the snow, hot cocoa and a warm fire.

But, walking outside and feeling the wind go straight to the bones makes me want those summer nights filled with fresh-mowed grass, bonfires and smores.

On a introduction...

That's Dakota, my 1 year old Siberian Husky. He's a fluff ball if there ever was one.

We also have a 5 year old cat named Arson.
