Our House

We finally closed on our house!!!! It took forever, but I am so happy to be able to announce our good news and introduce our little house.

I'm sure there will be many posts about are new place as the months pass and we paint and decorate to my liking. This is the listing picture(the picture that made us fall in love with it). When we first saw it the trees were bare and it was raining. So, I wanted to share a more cheerful photo. For now, some details:

-Four bedrooms

-Two bathrooms

-1/4 acre lot

-Lots of beautiful, mature trees in the backyard

It was such a beautiful morning, I had to take some pictures of my favorite details in the backyard while Dakota played in the fresh snow.
There are so many birds; four kinds of woodpeckers, chickadees, sparrows, song birds that move to fast for me to catch a glimpse and cardinals.
Within two days of putting up two feeder and some sunflower seed suet, they were gone! I'm going to have to budget for bird seed by the month.

Well, until the next time I want to show of our first home...

Cave Adventures

This past weekend was too gorgeous to spend indoors. We took a drive to a nearby state park/state forest called Hocking Hills.
Right after the entrance is a sight called Old Man Cave, but the adjacent parking lot was packed, and hoards of people were walking in the direction of OMC....We aren't the type for uber crowds, especially since we wanted a nice silent hike.

We moved on, a sign said there was another feature down the road and 11 miles of curvy road later we got to Rock House. A little hike back, and a lot of stairs later we saw pretty rock formations.
And, sadly, encountered loud groups. It must have been "loud hikers renunion day". Incredibly annoying, and coupled with echoes from the surrounding rocks, I didn't see any wildlife, not even birds.

At least the scenery was nice.
Can you see tiny Andrew?

While looking through the pictures, Andrew made a comment saying his stride looked really long and we made some Sasquatch jokes. So I had to add these.

Don't worry, jokes were made at my expense as well. Like, I'm often in surroundings like caves, where everyone around me is crouching to avoid head trauma while I walk around, no problem. My shortness is not funny, Andrew!

This is from inside the cave, which we think is the Rock House. Not sure.
Getting out of the car for our last hike, that we didn't take because of loud people...
He's sad because he knows at the trailhead, we'll be able to hear the sounds of children(and adults) shouting and laughing from the bottom of the cliffs and we will turn around.

Point of story: When in natural places, please be quiet! Most people are there for peace and quiet, nature and reflection. So, take your outdoor voices and stick them in your backyard!

100 Books and a Wedding

Ooops. Did I forget I said I'd read 100 books in 2011? I didn't, but I'm really behind now.
I hadn't been to the library in 2 weeks and was starting to feel some withdrawl symptoms.
But, last night Andrew and I took a trip to base so I could replenish my supply.
Now I have four books and can't choose which to start first. I told myself I would branch out and read something I wouldn't normally. I failed, I found all my books in the fiction section. Oh well, maybe next time.
Andrew even got a book, which might be the first time ever. He's a newspaper, Backpacker magazine reader rather than a sappy fiction reader like me.
So, even he found a book about our honeymoon this summer(no details yet). hehe.
I'd much rather keep you in suspense about our re-wedding this summer.
The date is set, but you should already know it.
July 2nd, 2011.
Which, if you remember is our anniversary. It makes sense to reaffirm our vows on our one-year anniversary.
I am excited and stressed about it. As I was explaining to my mom yesterday it's more important and less important than a wedding. I have a lot of conflicting feelings about the direction I'm going with it. I just have to slow down and remember why Andrew and I got married in the first place and then I feel a little less pressure because we are there to celebrate our love and life with family and friends.

I've Been Missing

Literally, I've been missing around here but, I'm really talking about missing my kitty.

Arson.

I'm hoping I'll be able to go get him soon, my momma is taking care of him for me. Since two people, a dog and a cat don't do well in a hotel he stayed behind for a while.

My kitty is strange, he doesn't like strangers and sometimes I'm pretty sure he doesn't even like me. I think I've talked about him on here before.

But, I don't think I've mentioned my crazy when it comes to buying him costumes...

Yeah, I'm one of those people.

But, then there are moments I think he remembers that I spent $30 on a window chaise for him so he has a nice place to nap and he forgives me.

Right?

Hopefully, I be getting my pretty kitty soon.
