Starting Seeds

For the last few weeks I've been working on growing something I've never grown before. SEEDS! I've planted flowers and even some vegetables that were already established plants. However, I've never taken a seed and started it indoors. I've been wanting to do this for a while and this year I finally did!

Above shows all my supplies. I stuck with flowers. I have several types of cosmos, cornflowers, morning glory, blue fescue, lavender and many more. To organize I set each seed packet where I was going to devote a tray to them. I organized by height, tallest from right to left.
I put them in our guest bedroom up on a high dresser. They're suppsed to stay in a warm, bright room but not have direct sunlight. And within two weeks I have sprouts!!!

I was really worried about these little guys. I'd never planted seeds indoors, and I was so sure I did something wrong in the process. As it were, the directions are none too specific when it comes to how much water you should give them. I was afraid I drowned them, and then I was afraid I was making them survive their first drought.

My worries are let up a little now that there are hardy little sprouts all over. My chinese laterns are the only hold out so far. I'm looking forward to planting these outside when they're all grown up. You bet I'll be taking pictures of my pretty flowers.

  1. How awesome! Jen and I tried this once, but we failed, haha. We don't do that well with growing plants... But yeah. We want to try again!

I love that you can dedicate your guest room to these happy little sprouts. We only have the one room, two cats and a bird, so we gotta be careful. :P
