Cox Arboretum MetroPark

Sunday, we had a lot of work to do in the yard, but when we woke up everything was still dewy and damp from the night. I don't know about you, but I hate doing yard work when everything is damp. So we decided to spend a few hours exploring something new.
So, we went down to Dayton to the Cox Arboretum MetroPark. I've raved about the metropark system here in Ohio, and this park is no exception. It's an oasis of green in a developed area of Dayton. It's completely free to roam around and they even have a butterfly house! Glad we went when we did, it was the last day of their butterfly house season.
Paths meander throughout the park, around ponds, under trees  and through gardens. There are also trails that go off in the woods, we did one of those too.

So many butterflies and flowers. It was a very hot day, it got to 90 before we left. But we enjoyed walking around the beautiful gardens for a little while before heading home to work in our own garden!
